Medeco is the Key to the City
Medeco is the lead sponsor for a unique public art project in NYC. Over 25,000 custom coined keys will be distributed from a kiosk in Times Square that open over 25 sites all around New York City. The goal of the project is for both tourists and locals to feel that they own a part of the city by going to the various sites. Medeco benefits with everyone carrying a Medeco key, and opening Medeco locks at the various sites. The keys will be distributed in Times Square during the month of June and the locks will be installed through Labor Day. Locksmiths in New York have the opportunity to buy these special key blanks and can cut keys for consumers during the entire time of the project.
Press is already starting on this with a brief mention in the New York Times, an article on ArtNet, and an article in New Yorker magazine to be printed in June. For more information go to the Project website www.creativetime.org/keytocity
